HISTORY MADE: ENDA passes in the Senate
Dear James,
I'm thrilled to tell you that the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) has just passed in the U.S. Senate for the first time ever.
We've been working to get this important piece of legislation passed for nearly two decades – and today we made history thanks to incredible supporters like you.
But before we turn to the next chapter of this fight, we need to let our senators know what we think of their votes.
Texas's U.S. senators, John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, voted NO on ENDA. Let them know you're disappointed that they stood against equality in the workplace.
The ENDA campaign that HRC has helped lead – Americans for Workplace Opportunity – has been hard at work for months, working across both sides of the aisle, to get this legislation passed through the Senate. With your help, we've made more than 13,000 calls to Capitol Hill, collected more than 50,000 postcards, and supported 30 field organizers on the ground in seven critical states with swing senators.
This hard work has paid off thanks to you. But we can't let Sen. Cornyn and Sen. Cruz off the hook for voting against fair employment laws.
Your feedback will send a message to the Senate that Americans are resoundingly in favor of a more equal country – and that includes equality in the workplace.
Send a message to your senators to share your disappointment about their votes against ENDA.
There's a lot left to do in the fight for workplace equality, and while we should cherish this historic moment, we can't afford to stop working yet.
Thank you for helping us reach this point and for being a part of this fight.
Sincerely,
Chad Griffin

If Deep Passions Exist, Men Will Challenge 2+2 = 4 -- Weekly Webcast #663
What causes men to cast off fame and fortune and to jeopardize all that life calls dear for the Cross of Christ? The vile Roman emperor hung Christians on their own crosses outside of Rome and lit them up at night in a spectacle of cruel and deadly mockery.  Down through the ages, millions have sacrificed their all that they might win Christ.
The following link takes you to the Weekly Webcast.  It begins, Lord willing, at 5 PM Eastern Standard Time every Thursday.
