China = Predator
If anyone is denied their property, it will be Taxpayers.
That is, unless we have enough skilled Guillotine builders/operators to "service" every Lawyer, Bankster, and Politician in the country...
Exactly. If SHTF, who the fuck is going to respect the property rights of foreigners? Possession will be the law.
The PBoC????
I've no idea, but I don't expect the same outcome. IMO, they're in a MAD scenario with the Fed.
The RICHER Chinee Are Desperate To Get Out Of That Polluted Craphole...
Just Check The VANCOUVER RE Market.
I live near Cerritos California and at least half the high school students are Chinese chilren living in rented housing who are in the country (at great cost) to get an American education.
Just asking....
It will take a long time for them to grasp what America's moral depravity has done to their children's ethics and values, or that they, themselves, eagerly signed their offspring up for such moral corruption. If the light ever comes on, that is...
American Public Education = Exceptional!
There's a word for that blackification; white wannabe negros.
because those stupid Chinese view everything American as SUPERIOR.
Chinese view just about everything non-Chinese as SUPERIOR. That's why they send their kids overseas to study, work their ass off to buy Mercedes and Rolexes, consume Japanese and Korean pop culture and generally avoid their own Made in China crap. Yet they are extremely nationalistic and xenophobic. They are the inbred sand monkeys of Asia.
As for our public education...You mention Cerritos as some sort of a public education haven. Fine. I'm familiar with Cerritos. But what about the entire LAUSD system? The most expensive yet THE WORST public school system in the country? Do you see all those stupid Chinese parents sending their kids to Crenshaw High? Compton?
Political connections mean less than zero - as do high entrance exam requirements - if you live in the wrong province.
Live in Guangdong but want to attend university in Beijing? Sorry, but only a small handful of prospective students are admitted from where you live, no matter how "well-connected" your parents are, or how you scored on exams.
Lived there, seen that.
Try again, ignorant jackass.
It's just like buying a BMW or Audi and thinking it's high class when in actuality you are buying an overpriced, unreliable piece of work.
Hopefully the higher ed liberal viral idiocy gets exported to china too so it can destroy them also.
"My chillen go school in Amelika!"
Yeah...Just pray they make it out alive.
So bubble 2.0 will get a little life, and a small amount of money will be arb'ed by the brokers, but this is probably a dead man walking.
1. Purchases made with US debt;
2. Purchases made with Chinese debt;
3. Purchases are all-cash.
1. => Forced sellers might trigger US real estate crash (in far future);
2. => Forced sellers might trigger US real estate crash _soon_ (those margin calls);
3. => No forced sellers (these are bolt-hole purchases), but if things get bad in China the Chinese actually occupy the properties bought. Implication is moderately good for US property market.
No idea what of 1-3 is true for US, but Russian purchases in London are definitely 3 (which is why expensive top-end London is actually far _safer_ than much cheaper property outside London bought with 95% mortgage guarantees peddled by the Government - easy to see an election coming...)
Watson
How many remember the movie "Rising Sun" with Sean Connery in 1993. It was all about how Japan was going to take-over corporate America and run the universe in our stead. Many of the people I saw the movie with truly believed it was going to happen. Unfortunately (for the Japanese) that movie just about top-ticked the market. The real estate market crashed, and the Nikkei subsequently lost over 3/4 of its value.
2014: Enter the Chinese. I have deja vu all over again...
Should come in handy when the United States gets nuked by Russian and Chinese ballistic missile submarines that will serve as a form of population control for China and India?
They made a minor play for my property too, I just laughed.
Survivor-of-the-fittest, bitchez!!!
Their grandkids might care about politics, but not the first generation.
That's just normal male fun, like sports.
I thought you meant the politics of Mexicans.
And here I thought all this time that Big Trouble In Little China was just a fun, campy B-rate movie. It was a window to the future, a documentary even.
1. Sell them the land.
2. Nationalize it back again.
www.kingoftherepublic.com
Not to mention that this fits in perfectly with the upcoming "failure of ALL nation-states" to usher in NWO.
And if these communist fuckers decide not to, the property is liened and eventually resold.
Lather rinse repeat.
Oh, and by the way, give us numbers not just 'a lot' and 'massive amounts' and other qualitative words. Those words don't mean anything to me.
Good luck, sucker. You're gonna need it.
And then some.
Do you really want to welcome hordes of uber-wealthy criminal Chinese into the country to further corrupt American officialdom with their trillions of dollars of ill-gotten gains? That cultural devolution might be more subtle than the Ebonic Plague that now assails us, but it will be just as destructive as the onslaught of the Ebonic Plague and the Liberal/progressive jihadists that have already dragged us down into the moral cesspool in which we currently struggle.
The influx of thousands upon thousands of amoral/criminal Chinese will add a devolutional synergism that will hasten our cultural and economic demise.
Bought pile of cotton in warehouse, write bond sold to bank trust secured by same pile of cotton in warehouse at least four time, use proceed buy house(s) in dying american neighborhoods rent to welfare recipients recieving HUD housing vouchers for $1,800 month.
Bought . . . . .
Bought . . . . . .
Oh, come on! You knew it was coming.
EDIT: I'm trying to angle the convo towards "post-apocalyptic goat farm up the Hudson", like a true f'n ZHer, but might be renting for awhile...

...
hows their timing forecasts again...
seems an acknowledgement of serious $ issues forcing the fact
The fucking city constructed this shit. Americants have forgotten the roles of government and private enterprise. The property transfer should read: From the People's Republic of Thomasville, AL to the People's Republic of China
*Edit: bear in mind also that I am part Taiwanese. I know how these buyers think...
I am seeing my local neighborhood and surrounding area declining, and the pace of decline is accelerating. This is suburban Los Angeles area.
Examples:
Big 5 and Arby's closed. Arby's flattened and a large 7-Eleven appears with big EBT signage in windows.
Gas station closed. Large 7-Eleven appears with big EBT signage in windows.
Marshall's closed. Space vacant for a a few years until BevMo opens in same spot.
Trader Joe's closes after 20+ years and record sales. Trader Joe's, in a statement, says locations further north (which are closer to the mountains and more affluent - and away from Interstate 10) will remain open.
Two local Albertson's closed, buildings now empty derelicts.
Super-WalMart opens, 24/7/365.
Police helicopter appears 1-2 times per week overhead, sometimes circling for hours.
Ambulence sirens a daily occurence near my block now.
Local Baskin-Robbins sees fewer and fewer successful people, more FSA-type of folks, coming in. Windows outside and glass cases inside increasingly carved up with graffitti.
Graffitti appearing on/around freeways more and more. City authorities don't bother to clean it up.
City easements not maintained for over a year.
Young college-aged men cruising the neighborhood as if looking for something during weekday business hours. Why are they not working? How can they afford new-looking clothes and shoes they wear?
Conclusion: I am going to sell and leave. I won't buy another house for awhile, just rent an apartment and wait and see what happens.
However, an ongoing divorce proceeding prevents me from selling right now, today. Will I still get this year's price for my home next spring? I hope so, not much I can do for now...
Bunch of websites that teach sandbag home contruction....FTW.
Anyway, they'll soon be selling it for 50% less once China crashes and burns, just like the Japs did.
They have no idea what they're in for. None.
The weird thing is, having arrived here with the cash they laundered in Macau, they believe they're "safe." It never enters their mind that an American government official at any level might be just as dishonest and corrupt as they are...
Yes, they are most likely victims of the self-inflicted grass-is-always-greener-on-the-other-side syndrome.
I wish Yellen would counterfeit me a bundle so I could buy up property in Germany.
But seriously folks I looked into getting citizenship in Switzerland. It's very unlikely, to put it mildly.
Ah-so.
I probably read it here, come to think of it.
Talk about a "through the looking glass" moment. Who exactly am I supposed to be rooting for here?
This is pure CB blowback, as predicted by Thomas Jefferson.
The Chinese have, with equal tenacity, this crazed need to have their kids go to school with whites. Don't tell me I am wrong!! I am not. So every district with a lot of whites is mobbed by Chinese.
The Vietnamese shopkeepers know one word "Amigo" and act as if this is the pinnacle of how to deal with their south-of-the-border employees. Amigo.
Putin and Obama in a ring with Abe and JinPing running second match.
The one that poohs himself pays out 10 to 1.
We of course are in no immediate danger of being 'devoured' by these folks....but something is clearly wrong with the "American Ideal of Land/Home ownership" when a small number of folks start owning double digit percentages of the total available-to-be-owned land.
But, the Canadians in Vancouver BC didn't mind selling their land to Hong Kong Chinese over the last 20 years, I don't think REAL mericans will either.
Oddly enough, laws that protect collectives from individuals create immense arbitrage opportunities for those inclined towords corruption.
This is like the inverse of those shitty Diplomat articles, and just as stupid.

No worries here. Been totally debt-free for years.
And, if more of "them" move here, maybe the Chinese restaurants will improve?

This is why the ChiComs aren't really going after the keptocrats.
