GALVANISM

I am the ex-spouse of Mr. Richard William Partsch of Zurich, Switzerland. We were a partnership for 14 years here in Houston, Texas USA AMERICA from 1977-1991. MayorGalvan was the Mayor of Madrid, Spain from 1979-1986. I was born in Houston, Texas USA AMERICA on August 27, 1956. My ex-spouse Richard W. Partsch was born in Galesburg, Ill. on September 20, 1955. Today is April 29, 2015. I just read where Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders plans to announce that he is running for President of the United States of America in 2016. MayorGalvan of Madrid fought in the Spanish Civil War in the Republican faction and founded the Popular Socialist Party (socialdemocrats) in 1968 and was its President until 1978, when they merged with the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party. In 1979 and 1982 he was one of the members of that party elected to the Congress of Deputies. He was elected Mayor of Madrid after the polls of 3 April 1979 [4] As a candidate from the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, he was the first leftist Mayor of Madrid after four decades of Francoist government. Reelected in 1983, he would remain in office until his death in 1986.
I was one of the first Hispanics to run for Mayor of Houston, Texas USA AMERICA in 1993. I also ran for the United States Congress Texas 18th Congressional District as a Libertarian in 1998.
I have voted for many different candidates from many different political parties for many different positions. I started voting when I became 18 years old back in the 1970's. I have been voting every since.
I voted for Jimmy Carter for President of the USA in 1976. I voted for John Anderson for President of the USA in 1980. I voted for Harry Browne for President of the USA in 1992. I voted for Ralph Nader for President of the USA in 2000 & 2004 when he choose a Latino named Camejo as his Vice-Presidential running mate.
I have decided that I am throwing my support behind Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and hope that he will pick Elizabeth Warren as his Vice-Presidential running mate. Sanders/Warren would be the best Presidential Ticket in 2016 for the United States of America. It's time to galvanize for real Regime Change here in the USA in 2016. No more Bushes ! No more Clintons ! The Bushes & Clintons have done enough damage to our great republic that so many of us have lost loved ones who fought against everything these traitors and crooks have endorsed and participated in. Please join me ! In the words of former President Abraham Lincoln of the United States of America, "We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the Courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who would pervert the Constitution."

Worldwide support for 2015 International May Day Online Rally

By our reporters
29 April 2015

Hundreds of people from more than 60 countries around the world have signed up to join the May 3 International May Day Online Rally. The rally is being held at 2:00 PM US Eastern Time and broadcast simultaneously throughout the world at internationalymayday.org.

The rally has been called by the International Committee of the Fourth International and the World Socialist Web Site to organize the international working class against imperialist war and the capitalist system.

WSWS reporters and campaigners spoke to workers and young people throughout the US and internationally over the past several days. In conversations workers and youth expressed anger over deteriorating social conditions, war and the attack on democratic rights.

Irmiya, who works with developmentally disabled adults, signed up to join the rally. "The way I see it, the problem is that a few people control all the resources; they own the land, the coal and oil, gold. They own it all with international banks. Their motivation is greed. They are greedy for themselves. The one percent control more than the 99 percent, but this way it is not sustainable."

Russell took a May Day leaflet and came back to talk to a WSWS reporter. "It is crazy that government is doing this. We vote for them, and they make war anyway. They went over to Iraq after the World Trade Center attack, but it really was all for the oil. They did not say it was really for that. It is a problem that people are not standing up for their rights. If everybody got together, the government could be changed." (Read more)

The social eruption in Baltimore, Maryland

By Andre Damon and Joseph Kishore
29 April 2015

The eruption of mass anger in Baltimore, Maryland over the police murder of Freddie Gray, and the subsequent military-police takeover of the city, have once again revealed the reality of social life in America. The United States is a seething cauldron of social discontent, over which a frightened and isolated ruling class rules ever more nakedly through the methods of violence and repression.

Two thousand National Guard troops, many of whom were previously deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, have poured into one of America's largest cities, only 40 miles from the nation's capital. A curfew has been imposed, and anyone found after dark without a driver's license and a document from their employer attesting to the fact that they work after hours will be arrested.

The entire political and media establishment has seized on the rioting and unrest following the funeral of Gray to declare their support for the paramilitary occupation of the city. The gamut of opinion represented on the television news ranges from full support for the crackdown to criticism of Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake for not having called in the National Guard earlier.

On Tuesday, President Obama, who has fully backed the crackdown in Baltimore, weighed in with his own remarks, delivered at a press conference announcing a new military agreement with Japan. Obama took the occasion to denounce youth in Baltimore as "criminals and thugs" and said that there is "no excuse for the kind of violence that we saw yesterday." He added that the violence "robs jobs and opportunity from people in that area."

To say that there is no excuse is to say that there is no reason, that the social eruption in Baltimore is simply the product of "thugs"--a term used ubiquitously by the political and media establishment over the past several days. In fact, the cause of the unrest in Baltimore is not hard to locate. It is the product of intense anger over poverty, unemployment, social decay and the unending reign of police violence and murder in Baltimore and cities throughout the United States. (Read more)

Australia's Anzac celebrations and the fight against war

By Nick Beams
 28 April 2015

The extraordinary campaign in Australia organised around the celebration of World War I, which reached truly frenzied proportions over the weekend with the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the disastrous landing at Gallipoli, Turkey on April 25, 1915, has profound international significance. It is an expression of the reckless turn to militarism of capitalist ruling classes all over the world that threatens to plunge mankind into another imperialist world war.

Another major event took place at the same time, giving conscious political expression to the anti-war sentiment among broad masses of workers and youth in Australia and internationally, and articulating the program of international socialist revolution--the only viable perspective to prevent a nuclear catastrophe.

In the face of concerted attempts to ban them, the meetings called by the Socialist Equality Party (Australia) in Sydney, Melbourne and Wellington, New Zealand in opposition to the official Anzac campaign went ahead--the result of an intense struggle for political clarification in the face of the propaganda barrage unleashed by the government and media establishment.

The character of the audience at the meetings--workers and youth determined to take a stand against militarism and in defence of democratic rights--revealed that the program of the revolutionary party will find adherents to fight for it. (Read more)

Menu International May Day International May Day 2015 Online Rally Sunday, May 3 Down with capitalism and imperialism! Unite the working class internationally against war, dictatorship and poverty! For peace, for equality, for socialism! Register Today! Sponsored by World Socialist Web Site International Committee of the Fourth International International Youth & Students for Social Equality The international working class stands at a crossroads. The endless war drive of the imperialist powers threatens to unleash a Third World War, waged by nuclear-armed states, with catastrophic consequences for civilization. There is mass opposition throughout the world to perpetual war. This opposition must be coordinated and given conscious political expression. The International Committee of the Fourth International is organizing the International May Day Online Rally to give voice to the workers of the world, the hundreds of millions of people looking for a way to stop the recklessness and criminality of the corporate and financial elite. The slogans for this year’s May Day rally are: Down with capitalism and imperialism! The danger of world war arises from the accelerating drive by the imperialist powers to divide and redivide the world. The “war on terror” launched by the Bush administration nearly 15 years ago has been transformed into an unending campaign, led by the United States, to recolonize the globe through force. Over the past year alone, the American ruling class has organized a right-wing coup in Ukraine targeting Russia, fomented civil war in Syria, sent forces back into Iraq, expanded military operations in Afghanistan, backed a new war in Yemen led by Saudi Arabia, and escalated a “pivot to Asia” aimed at encircling and isolating China. The other imperialist powers are increasingly asserting their own interests. Germany is moving rapidly to remilitarize in a drive to once again dominate Europe. In Asia, the Japanese ruling class is casting off the restrictions imposed by its post-war constitution. All of the imperialist powers—including Britain, France, Germany, Canada and Australia—are taking full part in the struggle over power and spheres of influence. Unite the working class internationally against war, dictatorship and poverty! Opposition to war must be rooted in the working class of every country. The strongest bonds of international unity must be forged. Imperialist war is the predatory response of the financial aristocracy to the intractable crisis of world capitalism. Its counterpart is the unrelenting assault on the social and democratic rights of workers, combined with the expansion of the state apparatus of repression. All the great issues confronting the working class—the growth of social inequality, endemic poverty and unemployment, the resort to authoritarian forms of rule, the explosion of police violence—are inseparably bound up with the fight against imperialist war. For peace, for equality, for socialism! The danger of war is rooted in the contradictions of world capitalism—the division of the global economy into competing nation-states, and the subordination of the productive forces of mankind to the accumulation of wealth and profit by the corporate and financial elite. Another world war is not only possible, it is inevitable unless the international working class intervenes on the basis of an international, socialist and revolutionary program. Peace can be secured only through the establishment of a global economy based on equality and the rational and democratic planning of production to meet social need, not private profit. The International May Day Online rally will organize workers and young people against imperialist war and capitalist plunder. Take part in this major world event! Register to participate today! Register Today! Rally Date and Time Date: The rally will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 Location: Online, with physical locations in select cities.
