Today’s Beautiful Hadith is about Salat

Abu Hurairah RA reported that: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: “The reward for Salat performed by a person in congregation is more than 20 times greater than that of the Salat performed in one’s house or shop. When one performs Wudu’ perfectly and then proceeds to the masjid with the sole intention of performing Salat, then for every step he takes towards the masjid, he is upgraded one degree in reward and one of his sins is eliminated until he enters the masjid, and when he enters the masjid, he is considered as performing Salat as long as it is the Salat which prevents him (from leaving the masjid); and the angels keep on supplicating Allah for him as long as he remains in his place of prayer. They say: ‘O Allah! have mercy on him; O Allah! forgive his sins; O Allah! accept his repentance’. This will carry on as long as he does not pass wind." (Bukhari and Muslim)

Tuesday of Passion week

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 13,22-30.

Jesus went through one town and village after another, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem.
Someone asked him, ‘Lord, will only a few be saved?’ He said to them,
‘Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.
When once the owner of the house has got up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, "Lord, open to us", then in reply he will say to you, "I do not know where you come from."
Then you will begin to say, "We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets."
But he will say, "I do not know where you come from; go away from me, all you evildoers!"
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrown out.
Then people will come from east and west, from north and south, and will eat in the kingdom of God.
Indeed, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.’

Chandler, again well up the field, tries to bend in a cross for Altidore. It's cut out, but positive play from both teams here in the first 10 minutes.

Mobandje looks good for the Swiss. Nice run down the left causes some issues for the USA's defense, and that's really the worry for the Americans. The Swiss can certainly do damage quickly on the counter.

6'

Here's Bradley swinging it out to Shea. He and Chandler both getting down the flanks early. The cross is cut out, but you can see what the USA wants to do. With Morales and Bedoya in the midfield along with Williams, the USA is banking on there being plenty of cover.

5'

Switzerland now grabbing hold of things a little. A nice move through the middle but Brooks gets on hand to shield the ball out of play and win it back for the USA.

3'

Slow start in the very early going. Ball in the middle of the park, USA trying to get forward through Zardes, who floats in a cross, with nobody there on the back post.

We're off and running. USA in the blue moving left to right as I see it, with Switzerland in the all white kit.

Teams making their way out onto the pitch. This has the makings of an entertaining match. A tough challenge for both sides and both rolling out players that need the test.

Zardes and Altidore leading the line is interesting, as is Brek Shea at the back. Switzerland will have to be aware of the two strikers and of Shea bombing down the side. With Morales set to play a bit up the field at the left mid spot, Shea should be able to move forward and have the cover from midfield.

Some interesting moves there from both sides. Switzerland makes sx changes from its last match, but still a dangerous outfit with Shaqiri, Inler and Frei pulling the strings. For the USA, Danny Williams is back in the holding role, meaning Bradley will likely be tasked with getting more into the attack, something Klinsmann has consistently tried without a ton of success.

For Switzerland: Burki; Lichtsteiner, Schär, von Bergen, Mobandje; Frei, Inler (c), Fernandes; Drmic, Shaqiri, Mehmedi

Let's get you set with the lineup for the USA. Rimando; Chandler, Orozco, Brooks, Shea; Bedoya, Williams, Bradley (c), Morales; Zardes, Altidore

Welcome in to GoalUSA's LIVE call of the Switzerland - USA. Jurgen Klinsmann's men have a lot of thinking to do ahead of this one after another late collapse against Denmark, and this Switzerland team is a strong one. We've still got a good bit of time before kickoff, but feel free to hang around and we'll bring you all the action as it happens.
