Pepe Aguilar "Corrido De Monterrey"

86'
Not a lot of time left here. The Swiss searching for that winner, and the USA just trying to hang on.
  • 84'
Now it's Xhaka with a hit from the top of the box that he sends up and over. This is a tough spot for this U.S. team.

  • 82'
Chandler with a bad foul. Maybe too far out for a shot, but another dangerous area. The visiting sides needs to regroup quickly or this will turn into another late loss.

  • 81'
So we're level at 1-1 with about 10 minutes left to play. The USA has been defending since the red, and Switzerland has certainly looked the better side in this second half.

    80'
    Goal Valentin Stocker

  • 80'
GOAL! Switzerland is level off a corner. Stocker gets the final touch, and again the USA has given up a late goal.

  • 79'
Embolo and Shea both miss on a cross in from the right, which bangs off Brooks and goes out for a corner, narrowly missing the near post. Big break for the USA there.

  • 77'
Embolo called for a foul on Brooks from behind. Chance here for the USA to kill some of this clock.

  • 76'
Kasami wth a free header at the back post can't get it down. Great ball in from Shaqiri.

  • 74'
The USA gets forward but Bedoya's clipped cross doesn't have the pace on it to pick out a teammate. Now the Swiss are on it again and moving forward, with Embolo forcing Yarbrough to intervene in a cross.

  • 73'
Terrible touch from shea goes without being punished as it slips back to Yarbrough.

  • 72'
    SubstitutionGelson FernandesHaris Seferovic

  • 70'
So it's one card for the foul, a second for the mouth, and Altidore is gone.

  • 68'
    Red Card Jozy Altidore
That might change the game. Altidore has been sent off. The U.S. will finish this match down a man. A red for something he said. Nothing nice I'm sure.

  • 64'
Zardes tries to go it alone after Morales takes it off Shaqiri. It's a tough ask for him up front when the numbers aren't there to help. Maybe not showing the maturity to turn it back.

  • 60'
The USA is being allowed to play a very physical match by the ref here. That's certainly not something that favors the home side. Brooks is a big man for a youngster like Embolo to have to deal with .

  • 58'
Embolo on for the Swiss. Exciting talent, we'll see how he does.

  • 56'
    SubstitutionJosip DrmicB. Embolo

  • 55'
Shaqiri gets down the right and picks out Xhaka who blasts over the top. Switzerland starting to pile on some pressure, with Shea getting tested down the left for the USA.

  • 52'
Another whipped cross from Chandler and another chance for the USA. Zardes has it taken off his head by the goalkeeper but it falls to Bradley, who can't get it settled before Xhaka taps it away and gets the danger cleared.

  • 49'
ZARDES! A ball in from Chandler and Zardes gets a head on it, past the goalkeeper but past the post as well. Another chance for the USA that comes up just short.

  • 48'
Zardes with some nice play to win a throw for the USA.

  • 46'
So the Swiss have brought on some more regulars, clearly not wanting to get beaten here. For the USA, a couple of changes, including in goal, so we'll see what impact this has on the match.

  • Plenty of changes coming in for both teams. Yarbrough in goal for the USA for the second half, and Xhaka in for the Swiss, which could easily turn this game.

  • That's the best half from the USA since the World Cup, I think it's safe to say. But Switzerland has not looked particularly good in the middle of the park. Still, you could argue that the Swiss had some chances - namely the ball from Shaqiri that missed Mehmedi by inches in front of an open net - to have this game on level terms. Plenty more to come in the second half I'm sure.

  • And that was, in fact, the last touch of the half. What a way to end it for the USA, to go in front. Shea... you wouldn't have expected that from him, but a brilliant strike has the visiting side in front at the break.

  • 45'
    Goal Brek Shea
GOAL!!! BREK SHEA with a brilliant free kick to put the USA in front. What a nice hit, up and over the wall and right into the top corner. 1-0 USA just before the half.

  • 45'
Danger here as the USA has a free kick in a very good spot.

  • 39'
HUGE chance for Switzerland with Shaqiri rolling a cross into the mouth of goal where Mehmedi just missed a touch for a sure-fire goal. Big, big miss for the home side.

  • 38'
Now at the other end Switzerland gets on the attack with Drmic having his shot blocked out and winning a corner, but like the USA's a moment ago it's wasted.

  • 37'
Good cutting pass from Bradley to slip Chandler in down the right, but his cross is blocked. Again, he's doing well to get into the attack, but the final ball isn't there at the moment.

  • 35'
Switzerland having a hard time dealing with the USA counterattacks. This time it's Bradley on the end of a pass from Bedoya and a last-ditch tackle wins a corner for Klinsmann's side.

  • 33'
Bradley leads the charge forward after winning the ball but his diagonal to Altidore is under hit. Another chance somewhat wasted.

  • 32'
Really nice holdup play from Altidore and he slides it out to Shea. The cross in was decent and met by Bedoya who heads it right at the goalkeeper.

  • 29'
Both teams with chances so far. The Bradley look was the best of the game for either team though, and honestly you'd have to be impressed with how the USA is playing to this point. Switzerland with enough positives that you can't really say one has edged it though.

  • 27'
Big chance for the USA. Altidore finds Bedoya and he cuts it back to Bradley who can't keep his shot down.

  • 23'
Good position for a whipped free kick here for the Swiss, and Shaqiri doesn't get it passed Bradley at the front post.

  • 19'
A calm moment right now in what has been a fairly fast-paced match to this point. Switzerland taking its time to hold the ball, but Bradley doing well to force Inler back.

  • 16'
Good break forward from the USA, but Zardes again - and with the understanding that he's maybe not fully ready for this level of play yet - fails to open up the space for Bradley to either make a pass or go alone. Mind you, this is after holding the ball well and laying it off for Bradley to carry forward and make the decision.

  • 15'
Really nice whipped cross in from the right and Zardes is a step off the pace with a clear look at goal. Bedoya's delivery there was perfect, but the Galaxy striker couldn't deal with it on his left foot.

  • 12'
Bedoya, with a chance to help the USA get in on goal, makes a sloppy pass to Zardes and it's cut out by Switzerland.

  • 10'
Chandler, again well up the field, tries to bend in a cross for Altidore. It's cut out, but positive play from both teams here in the first 10 minutes.

  • 9'
Mobandje looks good for the Swiss. Nice run down the left causes some issues for the USA's defense, and that's really the worry for the Americans. The Swiss can certainly do damage quickly on the counter.

  • 6'
Here's Bradley swinging it out to Shea. He and Chandler both getting down the flanks early. The cross is cut out, but you can see what the USA wants to do. With Morales and Bedoya in the midfield along with Williams, the USA is banking on there being plenty of cover.

  • 5'
Switzerland now grabbing hold of things a little. A nice move through the middle but Brooks gets on hand to shield the ball out of play and win it back for the USA.

  • 3'
Slow start in the very early going. Ball in the middle of the park, USA trying to get forward through Zardes, who floats in a cross, with nobody there on the back post.

  • 1'
We're off and running. USA in the blue moving left to right as I see it, with Switzerland in the all white kit.

  • Teams making their way out onto the pitch. This has the makings of an entertaining match. A tough challenge for both sides and both rolling out players that need the test.

  • Zardes and Altidore leading the line is interesting, as is Brek Shea at the back. Switzerland will have to be aware of the two strikers and of Shea bombing down the side. With Morales set to play a bit up the field at the left mid spot, Shea should be able to move forward and have the cover from midfield.

  • Some interesting moves there from both sides. Switzerland makes sx changes from its last match, but still a dangerous outfit with Shaqiri, Inler and Frei pulling the strings. For the USA, Danny Williams is back in the holding role, meaning Bradley will likely be tasked with getting more into the attack, something Klinsmann has consistently tried without a ton of success.

  • For Switzerland: Burki; Lichtsteiner, Schär, von Bergen, Mobandje; Frei, Inler (c), Fernandes; Drmic, Shaqiri, Mehmedi

  • Let's get you set with the lineup for the USA. Rimando; Chandler, Orozco, Brooks, Shea; Bedoya, Williams, Bradley (c), Morales; Zardes, Altidore

  • Welcome in to GoalUSA's LIVE call of the Switzerland - USA. Jurgen Klinsmann's men have a lot of thinking to do ahead of this one after another late collapse against Denmark, and this Switzerland team is a strong one. We've still got a good bit of time before kickoff, but feel free to hang around and we'll bring you all the action as it happens.
